Seven acquisition racks, a redundant and selective 24 V supply, two separated networks. This kind of assembly can take up to a million measurements per second — provided nothing in the wiring holds it back.

The requirement
An aerospace manufacturer needed an acquisition bay able to handle a very large number of channels at a high sampling rate. It had full command of its measurement requirement and its own operation; what it was looking for was someone to design the electrical installation and assemble the bay properly.
So that is all we did. No program, no process commissioning, no software: the electrical design and the assembly. It is the clearest illustration of what we mean by à la carte — you hand over only the link you are missing.
What we did
- Complete electrical design of the bay: power budget, distribution, protection devices, rack layout and internal cable routing.
- Redundant 24 V supply, doubled so that losing one power supply does not stop acquisition.
- Selectivity modules and a split into three supplies, each dedicated to a group of racks: a fault on one channel does not bring the whole bay down.
- Two physically distinct networks, Ethernet and Profinet, with separate cable routes at the rear of the bay.
- Assembly and wiring: integration of the seven Gantner racks, switches, distribution and full marking.
- Inspection and testing before shipment, as on every workshop build.
The result
A bay ready to receive the client's sensors and its own operating software. The performance the acquisition hardware allows — of the order of a million measurements per second on this kind of assembly — is not held back by the electrical installation.
That is the whole point of a measurement bay: the hardware sets a ceiling, the wiring decides whether you reach it. An undersized supply, mixed networks or careless routing show up as noise, dropped frames, and measurements that end up being doubted.
A partnership, not just a supplier
Gantner Instruments is both our supplier of acquisition hardware and our client: the manufacturer entrusts us with integrating its solutions so it can answer its own customers turnkey. That is why we know these racks well — we are not discovering them project by project.

The structure, before wiring
The 19-inch uprights, the separation plates and the two vertical cable routes. Routing is installed before the first cable: that is what makes it possible to guarantee network separation all the way.

Supplies labelled by rack
Three 24 V supplies and their selectivity modules. Each strip carries the name of the racks it feeds — supply 1 for racks 1 and 2, supply 2 for racks 3 and 4, supply 3 for racks 5, 6 and 7. A technician knows what to isolate without opening a drawing.

The assembled front
The seven acquisition racks with their connectors — coaxial, Sub-D, pluggable terminals depending on channel type —, the network switch and the power strip. The brush panels between levels let cables through without letting dust in.
Three engineering decisions
A redundant supply. The 24 V is doubled. Losing one power supply does not mean losing a test campaign — decisive on measurements that cannot easily be repeated.
Selectivity rather than a single feed. Three supplies, each dedicated to a group of racks, with selectivity modules. A fault stays contained within its group instead of taking the whole bay down.
Two separated networks. Ethernet and Profinet share neither cables nor routes. It is the same electromagnetic compatibility principle we apply across a building, transposed inside a bay.
And legible marking. Every conductor carries its reference, every supply states which racks it serves. In five years, a repair will not start with a session of reverse engineering.
